Here are some tips on what to expect during the postpartum period: It’s natural to feel like you need to get back to your old life as soon as possible, but don’t rush yourself. This is a time for you to relax and take it easy. Make sure to include healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your meals.  Drink plenty of fluids. Dehydration can be a common postpartum complication, so make sure to drink plenty of fluids (especially water) both during the day and night. Avoid sugary drinks, alcoholic beverages, and caffeine products unless you’re really needing them.

What to do during your hospital stay

One of the most important things you can do for yourself and your new baby is to make sure to stay healthy during your hospital stay. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:  Eat a healthy diet before and during your hospital stay to help maintain your energy and avoid any nutritional deficiencies. Drink plenty of fluids, especially if you are dehydrated. Get plenty of rest – both while you are in the hospital and after your baby is born. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol while you are pregnant or during your hospital stay. These toxins can harm both you and your baby. Ask your doctor about any specific precautions you need to take during your hospital stay, such as avoiding exposure to sunlight or extreme temperatures. If you’re anything like me, you’ll be anxious to get home from the hospital after giving birth. Unfortunately, there’s a lot that goes into postpartum care, and it can take some time for your body to readjust to its new routine. Here are a few things to expect:  You may feel exhausted and sore. This is completely normal and should gradually lessen over the first few weeks. You’ll probably experience some bleeding, which can occur at any time during or after labor and delivery. Make sure to keep your contraception options open in case this happens.
